Configuring a custom database

All pionsoftware products allow you to configure a custom database. All products are tested on postgresql, mysql and hyperSQL (hsqldb is used as default file database).

Add a database.properties file

Open a command prompt and browse to "app/WEB-INF/classes" folder, within the installation directory;

cd /opt/pionmon/app/WEB-INF/classes
nano database.properties

Example PostgreSQL configuration

hibernate.connection.url=jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/pionmon

hibernate.dialect=core.logic.hibernate.PostgreSQLDialectExt
hibernate.connection.driver_class=org.postgresql.Driver
hibernate.connection.username=[your database user]
hibernate.connection.password=[your database password]

Example MySQL configuration

hibernate.connection.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost/pionmon

hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect
hibernate.connection.driver_class=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
hibernate.connection.username=[your database user]
